The first six months of 2012 have been a rewarding time for friends of freedom and the Goldwater Institute.
The Goldwater Institute helped successfully defend Arizona’s landmark education savings accounts from a legal attack. Even as foes of this ground-breaking school reform filed a court appeal, Gov. Brewer signed a bill expanding the account eligibility to twice as many students.
The Arizona legislature and governor reformed the state’s personnel rules, making government workers more accountable. State policymakers also reduced Arizona’s capital gains tax, consolidated local candidate election dates with the states so voters only have to go to the polls once, strengthened voters’ free speech rights, and much more.
While we look to advance liberty even more in the second half of 2012, the Institute’s Daily Emails and Weekly Updates are taking a summer break and will return with a fresh look just after Labor Day.
This is the perfect time to share your ideas for improving our email updates to make them even more readable, useful and effective. Enjoy your summer!
