How Arizona Can Increase Prosperity by Decreasing Taxes

Event Date - January 23, 2012

While a handful of states are thriving economically, many more states are struggling to prosper. In order to grow the economy and compete nationally for jobs, Arizona has some important steps to take.

Please join us at a Goldwater Institute policy forum where the Institute’s senior economist, Stephen Slivinski, will explain how the road to Arizona’s economic prosperity begins with tax reform, including the elimination of the income tax, a broadening of the sales tax base, and a lowering of the sales tax rate.

Jonathan Williams, director of the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force for the American Legislative Exchange Council will discuss best practices to enable states to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve the standard of living for their citizens.

State Representative Steve Court will outline what the legislature must do in order to take these suggestions from paper to practice so that Arizona can become one of the most prosperous states in the country.

Goldwater Institute and ALEC members may attend this event at no charge. The cost for non-members is $20.
