A Nation of Fifty Constitutional Republics

Event Date - September 18, 2009

Listen to it here

In an era of burgeoning federal government power, state constitutions are full of untapped potential to protect our liberties. That's why on Constitution Day, the Goldwater Institute hosted a forum unveiling 50 Bright Stars: An Assessment of Each State's Constitutional Commitment to Limited Government, a complete report which reveals that nearly every state in the union has a stronger constitutional commitment to liberty and fiscal responsibility than does the federal government. Nick Dranias, director of the Goldwater Institute Center for Constitutional Government, was joined by constitutional scholars Professor Robert Natelson and William Ruger, as well as State Representatives Frank Antenori and David Gowan, who discussed what Arizona can do to advance principles of federalism during the Obama administration.
