Catherine Hess is the Director of Development at the Goldwater Institute. Her mission is to connect philanthropists with the initiatives they care most about by leading outreach programs that support the organization’s vison and growth.
Catherine holds a BA in Psychology and Human Development from Brigham Young University and is committed to enriching people’s lives. This background has fueled her passion for empowering people to make a difference in the world, including as a community leader. From her work as the Director of Development at the Libertas Institute, where she grew a fundraising team and built programs that engaged supporters, to her role as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Utah Patients Coalition, where she promoted individual liberty and limited government, Catherine has focused on helping people connect to the positive changes they wish to create in the world.
Catherine is dedicated to advancing constitutional rights and policies that enhance society’s well-being. Her academic and professional journey has been focused on studying the synergy between the mind, human behavior, and policy issues. When she’s not busy connecting philanthropists to worthy causes, you’ll find Catherine in the great outdoors camping, hiking, and skiing with her family. Catherine also volunteers as a mentor to women in her community through the outdoor adventure group she founded.
