Goldwater Institute Law Student Training – 2026

The Goldwater Institute will host its third annual public interest litigation training for law students on February 27–February 28, 2026!

Law students from around the country will gather at The Westin Phoenix Downtown for two days of practical, immersive instruction. This program offers a unique opportunity to hear from top Goldwater attorneys and other distinguished legal experts about the realities of public interest litigation, the practical skills necessary for success, and career opportunities within the liberty movement.

Sessions will include:

Putting it All Together: Public Interest Cases and Policy Initiatives

Choosing legal issues, clients, venues, and how litigation and policy teams collaborate to achieve wins for liberty

Communications Strategy

Engaging effectively with the media, developing compelling narratives for your cases, and winning in the court of public opinion

How to Be an Effective Appellate Advocate

Writing persuasive appellate briefs and delivering strong oral arguments

And more!

The Goldwater Institute will reimburse up to $500 in travel expenses, cover lodging for students traveling from outside the Phoenix area, and provide meals throughout the training.
