Austin VanDerHeyden is the Municipal Affairs Liaison for the Goldwater Institute. In that role, Austin helps municipalities across Arizona find free-market solutions to the problems they face, working with city councils, county officials, and school boards to promote limited government ideals.
Prior to moving to Arizona, Austin was a registered lobbyist in the state of Minnesota, where he was born and raised. Austin also worked for Turning Point USA, where he conducted deep research into school boards across the country.
Austin holds a bachelor’s degree from Crown College in Minnesota and a master’s degree in Political Science from Liberty University. He currently lives in Maricopa, Arizona, with his wife, son, and two dogs.
