Ryan Mills

Ryan Mills is the Media Relations Manager at the Goldwater Institute. Prior to joining Goldwater, he spent more than two decades working for local, state, and national news outlets. He spent more than 14 years at newspapers in Florida, most prominently as an investigative reporter and editor.  His 2016 series on beach erosion won the Florida Society of News Editors’ Gold Medal Award in community leadership and was a national Investigative Reporters & Editors Award finalist. Most recently he was an enterprise and media reporter at National Review where he covered stories about overreaching and dysfunctional government from coast to coast.

A native of St. Paul, Minn., Ryan has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree in marketing communications from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He lives in Fort Myers, Fla., with his wife and their two sons. When he’s not working, Ryan enjoys running races, cheering for the Minnesota Twins, and coaching his kids’ baseball teams.
