Thank You to All Americans Who Stand Firm for Freedom

This Thanksgiving, we celebrate the steadfast spirit of liberty embedded in our great nation, where freedom and individual rights are not merely ideals, but the very backbone of our country.

Our efforts at the Goldwater Institute would not be successful without the courage and determination of all Americans who stand firm against the tyranny of government. Their actions inspire our work and remind us of the continuous effort required to preserve the freedoms we hold dear.

We’re thankful to parents like Amber Lavigne, a Maine mother who is courageously standing up for the rights of concerned parents everywhere. Facing school officials who brazenly concealed crucial information about her daughter’s health and wellbeing, Amber, with Goldwater’s support, is suing her school board for violating her constitutionally protected parental rights. Her legal battle underscores parents’ fundamental right to know what’s happening in their kids’ schools.

We’re thankful to military veterans like Rob Wilson for his steadfast commitment to upholding free speech. Local authorities are illegally trying to censor Rob, who owns a shooting range in Flagstaff, Arizona. Goldwater’s attorneys are challenging this blatant violation of Rob’s constitutional rights—and in an age where the right to free expression is increasingly under attack, Rob’s unwavering stance serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding our freedoms.

And we’re thankful to freedom fighters like Christian Watson, a free market writer, podcaster, and advocate—and 2023 winner of Goldwater’s Freedom Award. Christian has been instrumental in championing American values. He consistently promotes justice, equality under the law, and individuality, particularly in his stance against the lunacy of Critical Race Theory and DEI policies. His dedication to these principles not only honors the essence of liberty but also serves as a beacon for the next generation, guiding them toward a freer future.
