Coconino Voices: Flagstaff City Council is denying First Amendment rights
I defended our Constitution for decades, spending 22 years in the U.S. Navy Submarine force.
My wife Elise and I opened a business to serve our community, but now, our own city’s government is violating our First Amendment rights and infringing on our and others’ ability to earn a living. The City of Flagstaff is censoring a short, harmless advertisement for our small business — an ad that has run thousands of times before with no complaints.
I strongly believe that our government exists to represent us, not dictate to us. The city’s actions are simply unacceptable and a violation of our rights.
